This is a great boot. Thicker stronger sole, strong seams, good ankle support, quick laces, no rub points identified. Great second pair in my ruck sack (back pack). My #1 boot and the #1 boot that a lot of my counterparts would support me on putting my seal of approval on, is the original Nike SFB linked below. I'm not sure if Nike is tracking yet, but Coyote Boots are in high demand and even more so starting 01 July 2015 since the US Army is moving to a new uniform pattern that calls for Coyote colored boots. The original tan will still be acceptable till 2019.If I had my way Nike would develop an original SFB boot AR 670-1 compliant boot in Coyote, 100% leather, 8" shaft. I miss, what I interpreted as the Nike free sole that the original SFB had. Yes this sole is more durable but I'd rather buy boots more often but have a boot has demonstrated to me, my peers, and my subordinates that it is great for running, jumping, rucking, and kicking butt.http://store.nike.com/us/en_us/pd/special-field-boot/pid-179377/pgid-10349210

Best boots to date.

Nike has gone above and beyond with their new SFB Field Leather.I purchased these after needing a new pair of boots and knowing Nike like I do played a big part in why I chose them.AR 670-1 Approved, though the British Khaki is technically no longer allowed since OCP became the standard, however a brown that meets regulation is coming. The boots run around a half size small, so make sure to order a half size up. Ex: wear a 12, get a 12.5.They also seem to run a bit more narrow than other boots, which is one thing I like about them. It's helpful to those of us with thin feet and gives me plenty of spare room to tighten the laces if needed.Speaking of the lacing system because they decided to forgoe eyelits and instead chose Leather loops I no longer have the issue of the laces digging into the top of my foot after a long patrol that I would encounter on normal boots. The boots are durable from my experiences, breathable, flexible which is a big plus as many military boots are overly stiff in the sole which would always cause me to get heel blisters from slippage. They also have some form of foot protection from debris. Not sure what it is made out of but I have had nails that would puncture a normal boot sole wind up stuck in these without ever having even noticed. The tread on the sole is a really nice design that has proven to be reliable in multiple environment.About the only negative thing I have to say is about the insole. I'm not a fan, now in the boots defense I have never really found any standard insoles good. Some are better than others, but all are sub par. These however are just odd, maybe it's due to my thin low arched feat but the two "cushion" portions for the balls of your feet just don't work in conjunction with the thin foam of the insole. It makes my feet feel like they are dangling off the edge of something.Overall though these are by far the best boots I have purchased or been issued and highly recommend them to anyone, however with OCP replacing UCP I would wait till the new dark brown ones come out in a few months to buy. They are simplistic in design and durable and have everything you need in a boot.

Nike Boots

These boots are comfortable and allow you to move quickly without being weighed down like other boots that are government issued! Beware that they do wear in places that the Nike boots that are not approved anymore did not! The old Nikes lasted longer. Plan on replacing these every 6 months if you do a lot of training in them. The old ones use to last at least a year or more. I would recommend this product but they are not as durable as the previous style!

Good look, tight fit.

The boot has a very sharp look. The toe box is narrow and tight from above. Have issue with left boot digging into my ankle. I would imagine after the boots are properly broken in, these issues will subside. I plan on getting the coyote brown next.

AR 670-1 Compliant

I wore the previous Nike SFB boots and those were undeniably amazing. I loved how they felt like running shoes. I switched to these because these are AR 670-1 complaint and when k first inboxed them, they felt super stiff. A few days of wearing them in the hot sands of Kuwait, they feel a lot better. The boots are dark! So be aware they look dark brown! The sand here has lightened them up so they look good with OCP. From an appreciative service member, thank you NIKE for keeping boots comfortable !!!
